HAGE LED
D e s i g n
Ceiling or furniture spot lights and spot light inserts for gipsboard ceilings.
The diameter is typically 50mm or 70mm (any diameter equal or larger than 50mm can be available on demand)
A minimum height of 30 mm is required above the board where the spot light is mounted when the power supply is located
elswherem and 50mm to 65mm when the power supply is inside the ceiling or above the board near the spots.
The thickness of the circle holding the transparent cover below the board is 5mm. Typically there is a 1mm space
between the ceiling surface and the cover. If this open space is disturbing, it's possible to glue the cover.
When it's glued, it's better to have an access from the other side. If there is no access from the other side,
the glue could damage the paint of the ceiling if, one day, it has to be removed for repair or modification.
Each spot is fixed on a heatsink dissipating the heat above the ceiling. This heatsink should not be covered and
the area around it and above it should be left without isolating material.
The advantage and at the same time, the disadvantage of this system is that it works only in series of 4 when connected
to a 24VDC power supply. It can also work in series of 3 with 18VDC, in series of 2 with 12VDC, and alone on 6VDC.
When used on 24VDC, it's compatible with the 24VDC power supplies of our other lluminaries or light installations.
Several series can be connected on a single power supply, wether it's 24, 18, 12 or 6 VDC. But each series must
have the same number of spots. The disadvantage is that the number of spots should always be a multiple of 4, 3, or 2
according to the voltage of the power supply. It's not recommended to use 6 volts supplies for more than one spot because
of energy loss and heat disspation over the cables. It's always best to use the highest voltage possible and to use the
voltage adapted to the number of spots. Using series of 4 spots allows you to use 4, 8, 12, 16, etc spots
and is very convenient for rooms of normal size and rooms of large size. Series of 3, 2 or 1 should be used
in small or very small rooms.
The power of one series is 8W (960 lm) in each series of 4 (24VAC). 6W (720 lm) in series of 3 (18VDC),
4W (480 lm) in series of 2 (12VDC) and 2W (240 lm) in stand alone (6VDC).
The advantage of using series, with a single power supply used for all the spots,
is that the installation is much easier, safer, more reliable,
require less cables and reduces power loss over long wires.
These spot lights are available in different colours: Cold white, Warm white, red, blue, green, yellow,
amber, dark UV, agro light and other colours on demand.
Optional ON/OFF function is possible with an additional, small and inexpensive control board, The ON/OFF functionality
works only for one full series at a time. Dimming options are also available for the entire installation depending on a
single dimmable power supply.
Indoor use only
The next picture show a demonstration display of 4 spots in series.
This is not a real installation. The spots can be installed at different
and much longer distances from each other.
The first picture show a close view of two of the four spots.
The next two pictures show the spots when on and when off.
The next picture show the installtion from the other side of the board of the ceiling.
It shows how the spots are connected in series with red cable and one black cable
returning to the power supply.
The next picture show the installtion from the side of the board of the ceiling.
It shows how slim the cover under the ceiling is, and the heatsinks above the spots.
The thickness of the board is 12mm.
The next picture show the installtion from below the board of the ceiling.
